
Jazmine was a Philadelphia native was raised and born in the city. Pam the mother of Jazmine is an ex-backup singer from Philadelphia International Records. At the age of five, old, her father got in the role of curator of City's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family relocated to the mansion's historical site. The 2005 graduate of the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in which she was a vocal music major. Sullivan started singing in the contralto section of the children's choir, then a few years later in the adult group. Sullivan had limited exposure to secular music. She relates that she was just 11 years old when a person requested her to sing in a solo in the church. However, she was not fully ready. "I was lucky enough to be chosen for the McDonald's competitionwhich gave students from big cities the chance to sing "Accept whatever God wills'. The audience responded well." The singer performed along with Stevie Wonder at his grandson's birthday party at thirteen. Sullivan was initially signed to Jive Records at the age 15. At the age of 15 the label signed her to Jive Records. She recorded an entire album at Jive Records, however it was not released. Sullivan was later removed out of the company. Missy Elliott was her producer on a couple of tracks that were on their debut album. Of these "Backstabbers" of Timbaland, which Elliott produced was one of Sullivan's top tracks.
